Studio Seminar Discussion, 26.03.2018
Today we had another group discussion about our project and the quickly approaching deadline. Here are my notes:
The presentation material needs preparation too - put some time aside to work on the layout etc.
Your presentation has to summarise your Vision and Mission, and communicate clearly the concept and purpose of your project. That is your opening paragraph that describes your design. It can be followed by a sketch model or a diagram to illustrate.
It is a good idea to section your presentation material into A3 sections - that forms a grid, and helps you adapt to different ways of presenting your proposal: wallpaper drop/ horizontal drop/ portfolio.
For inspiration on how to design your presentation, Made Thought and Pentagram are incredible in terms of graphics - check them out.
Don’t forget about the roof plans. You must show what happens to the roof. Also put your building into context.
Visual - audible - tactile - olfactory mapping of your proposal. How are you going to impact the visitors through all their senses?
Describe your circulation and use of space through AON (activity-on-node)or space syntax diagrams. Grasshopper is an useful tool to do that.
