In one of my recent tutorials with James, we talked about the characteristics of the Jewellery Quarter and my chosen site, as well as how storytelling could be applied as an architectural concept. James highlighted the fact that it is important to simplify the thought process when it comes to such complex issues that need addressing: he suggested to create a board of nine photographs/text boxes that sum up the qualities of the Jewellery Quarter, the site and the concept. He suggested this to be a tool that helps me keep focused and inspires me throughout the conceptual and design stage of the project.

Here are the boards that I have created, as a follow-up to my tutorial with James. I entitled the collage #bestnine, inspired by Instagram's end of the year photo collages. Most of these photos are taken from online sources and books, though some I have taken myself.
