Historic Map Overview
Exploring the old maps of the Jewellery Quarter, I discovered that at one point between 1856-1908, 30-34 Vittoria Street looked significantly different (see Fig. 1), with a number of little units scattered around the courtyard.
The front of the building facing the street seems to be similar to the one we see in Fig. 2, however it looks like the two building blocks enclosing the courtyard have been built at a later stage, and they are still there today.
To get an accurate insight into the architectural history of 30-34 Vittoria Street, I will try to find out the different stages that the building went through in becoming what we can see today.
